13672438_10209247136950543_1690480452_nLast week, 8-year-old chocolate lab Bentley was brought to a rural North Carolina shelter because his owner was moving. He was scared, shaking and so confused. As it turns out, a representative from The Tortorella Foundation was there too and saw this heartbreak unfold for Bentley.

This week, Bentley is in a loving foster home with squeaky toys and medical treatment he so badly needs because of the help of a volunteer animal advocate and a local rescue called Animal Life. Bentley was pulled from the shelter as soon as he was available and brought to the veterinarian the first thing. He was fully vetted, microchipped and neutered and was riddled with intestinal worms and, sadly, heart worm.

IMG_1488The Tortorella Foundation is working diligently to find a wonderful home for Bentley and has offered to pay for the medical costs for Bentley (and a maybe temporary foster where he can get his heart worm treatment and heal before being transported North).

The foundation, Animal Life rescue and our volunteer animal advocate are all still looking for a forever family for Bentley. Please contact The Tortorella Foundation if you think you can help or are interested in adopting this beautiful animal.
