The 250th anniversary of the United States is a wonderful day to celebrate. However, it’s important to be mindful of our companion animals’ reactions. More pets are lost during this holiday than during any other time of the year. It’s common for dogs and cats to be frightened by the sound of fireworks. (and wildlife and people, too). Please try to keep your pet inside. Be certain he or she is carrying an identification such as a chip or tag. A thunder shirt can give your pet a comforting “hug” when they are anxious and playing soft music can help to cancel some of the harsh sounds outside.
Happy Fourth to all our good friends and thank you for helping animals.
